IInd Division National Football League - 2009 Kick off

 

ND Heroes face an onerous task as they kick off their campaign in ONGC II Division National Football League scheduled to start from 5th March, 2009 in Gurgaon. The tournament is conducted by AIFF, Delhi.

 

The II Division matches will take place in Assam, Gurgaon and Kerala. It will be played between sixteen teams divided into three groups. The tournament will be conducted on a league basis. The two top teams from each group will qualify for the final round.

 

ND Heroes are placed in Group “B. The team is clubbed with Shimla Youngs, Haryana’s AMITY United, Pune FC and SESA Football Academy.

 

Mr. Chima Okorie the chief coach of ND Heroes said, “The new team looks a lot more balanced and we have players challenging for every position. I think the team will prove to be more competitive enough in II Division I League".

 

The former Delhi champion’s who defeated I League leaders Sporting Club de Goa in the 30th Federation Cup tournament will take on Haryana’s Amity United in the opening match on 5th March of Gurgaon leg of the II Division matches.

 

The other big teams you can catch in action in II Division NFL are Pune FC, Salgaocar, Oil India, Camellia George Telegraph and VIVA Kerala.
